Frequently Asked Questions - Condominium Related

Q: How do I order a Status Certificate for selling or buying a condo?

A: Click here.

Q: How do I find out if something is against the Condo Rules? e.g. pets, satellite dishes, parking etc?

A: You should have two very important documents in your possession as a condo owner; your Declaration and you Condo Rules and Regulations / By-laws (Owner's Handbook, if applicable). These documents will answer your questions on what is permitted and what is prohibited. If still in doubt, contact your property manager.

Q: When are my condo fees due? Can I arrange automatic debit or do I have to send post-dated cheques?

A: Common element fees are due and payable on the 1st day of each month. To ensure timely receipt of funds, a late payment charge will be applied to your account after a 10 day grace period.

For your convenience, TAG offers an easy and efficient Pre-Authorized Debit system from your bank account. Avoid the hassle of preparing and sending a cheque every month! Sign up for Pre-Authorize Debit. Alternatively, post dated cheques dated the 1st of each month will be accepted. Sorry, no credit card payments.

Q: I'm sure my condo corporation has insurance. Do I need my own insurance?

A: Yes. The Corporation's insurance applies to the common areas only. Homeowner's insurance will cover your personal belongings and improvements/upgrades against specified perils in your insurance contract. It is also a lending requirement; you'll need insurance to secure a mortgage.

Q: Where can I get more information about condominiums and ownership?
